SECO 2008 Continuing Education Program Offerings

Raise the Bar in Your Practice
Throughout the continuing education program SECO has assembled, attendees will see the Raising the Bar theme in the continuing education tracks and course titles. Athletic-themed icons and images in the program reinforce the theme of challenging our attendees to exceed the expectations of their patients and overcome hurdles to attain a successful practice.

Optometrist Education
SECO is more than an annual continuing education meeting. It’s The Education Destination™—where optometrists from around the world converge to learn the latest in optometry. SECO 2008 will feature an extraordinary continuing education program with more than 95 total courses led by approximately 79 of the world’s leading optometry experts. ODs can take advantage of:

  • More than 150 hours of valuable OD education from which to choose
  • 25 hours of free continuing education and special sessions
  • 32 hours of CE credit possible

Student Education
Young optometrists are challenged to succeed from the moment they graduate optometry school. SECO International offers a one-day education program, Saturday, March 1, 2008, to help students prepare to face important decisions when they enter the optometric profession. The optometry student education program is produced by SECO International, LLC, and supported in part by The Vision Care Institute.

The AOP Education Destination
It’s where optometry professionals want to be. SECO 2008 has assembled an impressive roster of courses given by the profession’s foremost experts. This year's world-class AOP program, supported in part by CIBA Vision and Essilor, offers:

  • More than 150 courses and 200 hours of CE
  • 112 no fee courses
  • More than 40 hands-on workshops
  • Almost 30 possible contact hours

Joint Education Opportunities
It sounds a bit cliché, but we all know it’s true – optometry is a team sport. And, SECO has designed several of its courses to accommodate optometric team learning. The "One Team, One Dream" Track includes five courses to help ODs and AOPs hone their practice management skills. Finally, the optometry team can take advantage of "Closing Ceremonies – The Thrill of Vision to the Agony of Da Feet," which looks at systemic and ocular disease. Joint courses may be found in both education programs.
